Acceptable Usage
Policy (AUP)
In
order to provide a high class, professional service, we have set
up a few guidelines for users of our service. Some of these guideliness
may seem strict, but they ensure a safe, functional and trusted
environment for our customers to publish their information on the
Web.
We
do not allow any of the following content to be published on our
servers:
- adult
material
- illegal
material
(including stolen copyrighted material)
- pirated
software
and hacking resources
- any
page which provide links to the above materials
The
following activities are prohibited:
- installing
network programs and daemons
- using
the cron utility to automate
tasks more than once a day
- sending
unsolicited email messages
(also known as junk email
or SPAM)
- any
illegal activities, including
but not limited to breaking in to remote
systems, credit card fraud,
theft, vandalism, threats, or violence

Additional
restrictions for Unlimited hosting plans
The
following contents and services are prohibited on the
Unlimited virtual server:
- audio/video
archives (mp3,
midi, realaudio, jpeg, mpeg, etc..)
- software
archives
(including sharewares and freewares)
- backups
of any kind
- free
cgi services
- communities
(including free web and free email services)
All
content on Unlimited servers must be related directly to and
linkable from your web site.

Violators
of server usage policies will have their accounts temporarily suspended.
They will then be contacted by Altaway and given the opportunity
to remove the content in question before having their services reinstated.
A repeated offense may cause cancellation
of service without refund of any fees.
Altaway
reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. We
enforce this policy to ensure a professional environment for the users of
our system.
Complaints
about violators of our policies should be referred to abuse@altaway.com. Each complaint
will be investigated.
